Health and Safety

Aggregate Industries is committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety by devoting the human and capital resources necessary to create a working environment in which our people and customers can work without injury or incident.

Health and Safety issues with cement include its dustiness, which is a concern before water is added, its alkalinity and its abrasiveness. All Paragon Materials Ltd. grey Portland Cements have been treated to reduce hexavalent chromium below 2ppm; cements so treated have a shelf life with regard to hexavalent chromium of 60 days - please refer to the technical department if you require further guidance.

The below datasheet outlines the hazards concerned with Portland Cement, the first aid measures, storage and handling guidelines and its toxic, ecological and physical/chemical properties.
