CIMSA
is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sabanci
Holdings, a large international group based in Turkey with worldwide
operations, an annual turnover of about 5.6 billion US$ and employing
over 14,000 people.
Sabanci Holdings operates a number of local and international joint
ventures based both in Turkey and in various countries including the UK).
The cement activities of the Group are divided into two main companies:
 CIMSA
- A wholly owned subsidiary producing white and grey cement.
Akcansa
- The largest producing group of grey cement in Turkey and the largest
exporter. This is a joint venture company between Sabanci Holdings and
Heidelberger Zement.
CIMSA operates the largest single white cement production unit in the
world, with a capacity of 1 million tonnes per annum. It exports white
cement to 32 countries including the UK, USA, Germany, Spain, France and
Denmark.
